....And Reece Smiles....

*This area of the forums was too barren - I could stand it no longer. Please excuse anything I write here for sometimes I get a bit carried away... So, at the risk of embarrassment - here goes.*

They say the eyes are the gateway to the soul and perhaps this is true, but the smile... The smile is the gateway to the heart - one can tell so much about a person and the way they care/love from their smile.

I've never had the pleasure of meeting the man, but from what I've been told - and from what I've seen in photos - a genuine Reece smile is a rarity. I have seen a few pics in which he has let his guard down, if only for a moment, and it is a thing of true beauty.

Thanks to the gorgeous Ellie and her elite video skills, our friend Melissa and I had the pleasure of catching this - dare I say it? I sure as hell do - phenomenon if only for a split second. Now, we had gone all weak in the knees over the fact our names passed through those lips, his hand gestures, that he seemed more at ease than he usually does and so on. Seemingly ridiculous, girly things of that nature were giggled and gushed over until we could barely contain ourselves and even beyond that point. For me, though.. well, I think for the three of us actually... the entire video was blown away by that split second, unguarded smile which seemed to light the room.

Many write about how they wish he would smile more often, but I'm ok with the fact he doesn't. As someone who is constantly told to smile and not look so moody, I say smile when you please, Mr. Shearsmith; when you're comfortable and happy, for your family and friends, for your loved ones - and on the occasion those of us on the periphery do have the pleasure of seeing you grin from ear to ear, we will appreciate it all the more.

...*shakes head* Yeah, I did take it a step further than I should have, but oh well...

*Applauds* That was lovely Mel!!

Indeed, I think that the fact he doesn't smile constantly is what makes that genuine smile of his so lovely to witness - you know you've seen something rare :D His face is a joy anyway, but when that smile happens, I just want to take him home to meet my mother!

Have attached a screenshot of the smile in question *sigh*

Re: ....And Reece Smiles....

Thankee.. I was afraid it was too much. Xanax, lack of sleep and Reece do not always mix as well as one would like. :P

As soon as that screenshot was taken, it became my desktop background. It has proven to be a tad torturous, though, as I want to kiss my screen each time I lay eyes upon it; My monitor gets pretty hot, and I've nearly burned my lips on several occasions.

Just kidding!!... *shifts eyes* ... or am I?

*EDIT - I wanted to add that my mother finally saw the video on YT and said, "Oh, he's a handsome young man."

To which I said, "Yep... He is quite lovely, and he's nearly 8 years younger than you."

This prompted an eyebrow raise and a shrug, because she has no room to say anything - She's married to a man 11 years her junior... Must be a generational fluke of some sort: My grandmother is significantly younger than my grandfather; my step-father is younger than my mother; and I'm attracted to men 10-20 years older than myself. Ah well... what can ya do?

Yay for Mel's mum!!

I have always been drawn to the older guys - don't know why... ;)

Re: ....And Reece Smiles....

Me, too. I have absolutely no idea what older guys have.

I also haven't met him. I just saw pics and clips where he smiles. And I love Reece's genuine smile. Sometimes it looks like he has to smile and not that he wants to. And I think, his genuine smile looks much better. I wish, he would do that more often.

Yes, his true smile is lovely - but you need to be David Attenborough to get it - and I did, so I'm proud ;)

Well I find that men my age just have nothing to them - not much depth or wonder or mystery. Reece has all three of those I think... I akin him to a drug!

As they say, "Still waters run deep."

He seems very meticulous. I think he's a bit of a worrier, as well... Of course he would be - rarely is one a perfectionist without being a worrier...

I akin him to a drug!

A drug, eh?...I wonder what would happen if I were to lick his face? *squints* Probably shouldn't have asked that...Erm...

Hah - for some reason I envisioned an Alice In Wonderland type scenario in which I lick his face and either shrink or turn into a giant. Strange... I'm 100% sober. The trauma from my broken finger has gone to my brain!
