I would say my favourite Reece/League characters are Benjamin (I know, what a shock!), Papa, Edward and Ross.

Benjamin is such a sweet innocent boy. Plus he looks so like Reece, how odd is that?..!

Papa is just such an odd character.... bad but with lots of charisma! You can't help but like him.

Edward to me is such a funny and interesting character. "Gangs of one or two" still makes me laugh out loud to this day :)

Ross is a smouldering handsome fellow. And he's sneaky and underhand...! And he wears glasses... Reece wearing glasses is one of my weaknesses..

Alrighty, here are my top 5 Reece League characters.

In no order whatsoever:

Papa Lazarou - What a beautifully psychotic character! Not only does he have style and a strut that would make any woman swoon, he also has quite a way with words. ;)

Judee - Legs. The one character that would make me hop the fence.

Edward - A perfectly sinister mix of Dahmer, Manson, and Albert Arkwright; all tied up in a little Ronnie Corbett-esque package. One doesn't know whether to cuddle him or punch him in the gut and run.

Ollie - Possibly not something I shouldn't admit on a public forum, but I've been likened to this character on multiple occasions. He's just so adorable, though.

Ross - *purrs* Smart, handsome, and shifty; what a deadly combination.

Honourable mention... *drum roll*

Cathy Carter Smith - She's FIERCE. I'd pay to see Pauline and Cathy mud wrestle.

I know! It was too difficult to pick my top faves since Reece does a killer job with all of his characters. I'm kicking myself for not mentioning Bernice. One of my favourite quotes out of the whole series comes from her,

"And lo, the scales fell from Saul's eyes, and he finally saw the true light, the way unto the Lord. At least that's what it says here... Lord, I am tired. Well, so much for the road to Damascus, what about the road to Royston Vasey we're finally getting? Hallelujah! Let's just hope we don't get a visit from Pog or Loopy, those soap dodging road protesters. Driving round in their converted ice cream vans; pierced belly buttons, pierced eyebrows, pierced tongues... My favourite Reece character initially was always Stella, cos she reminded me of my mum.....but it was always complex because I never got on with my mum..Secondlty I always liked Ross, cos no matter how he ended up being perceived he challenged the system in a small way, and I really liked that.

Yes Ross was trying to do some good at the end of the day - Pauline was dreadful to the jobseekers!

My Top 5:

Geoff Tipps - A cringe-inducing ball of anger. Reminds me of that sad uncle you hate to love.

Bernice Woodall - I would so go to church is she were my vicar.

Stella Hull - What can I say, obviously I love how brilliantly Reece combines slow-burning rage with seething bitterness.

Edward - I didn't clue into this character being played by Reece until somewhere in the second series. The friends who had forced their LoG DVDs on me (bless them) had given me a brief description of the League which went like 'there's three writer-actors and one other writer who doesn't appear much'. I figured Edward must be played by the one who doesn't appear much. I was blown away when I finally figured it out. Agree that "gangs of one or two" is legend.

Papa Lazarou & Keith Drop (tie for 5th) - Gloriously, frighteningly, deliciously weird and creepy.

I always liked Ross, cos no matter how he ended up being perceived he challenged the system in a small way, and I really liked that.

Reece surely had to have tapped into some inner source of rage and frigid bitterness to bring these beauties forth. They are so brilliant and viable. He certainly seems to possess a knack for playing characters that you love.. not to necessarily hate, but to be weary of.

Reece has often said he's a very angry man, that he has a lot of rage... I would love to know why that is.

A lot of his characters are the relatives you hate to love, and we can all identify with that. I was talking with a friend tonight about family and how they just come out with views you really hate. She was saying how her brother always dismisses her challenges by calling her a snob. But, you still love them! I think that is captured within Reeces characters, because they are people that you feel....."Why exactly do I like them?" But you still do.

I do know what you mean! They are easy to relate to. I can see my dad in Geoff at times...!

I like most of Reece's League Characters in some way. But this are my TOP 5 League Characters of Reece.

Benjamin Denton - He is so nice and handsome. I always like it when Reece looks like himself.

Ross Gaines - Intelligent and cute. And for a strange reason, I like the 'evil way' he is, when he is with Pauline. I don't know why.

Ollie Plimsolls - He is an eccentric and a perfectionist. He is so wired. He should calm down from time to time. Maybe I could help him.

Joseph Nigel Lisgoe - I'm not sure why I like him, but I do.

Papa Lazarou - He is so weird, but he treats his wives well. And I like his voice. It's so amazing.

when they kind of boo him in a way,i'm like why?pauline is nasty to him in the show from the begining,so shouldn't you be on ross's side?and when pauline got sent to prison through him i thought fair play ross! lol dunno what it is about ross tbh but i do like him

stella - lol omg i adore stella,she is funny and love how she and charlie argue about the smallest of things from a pie/cheese trivial

pursuit piece and the christmas tree in the christmas special,and loved how she put him down and via the secret society thing got him to mess up during the line dance competition,and gotta say i love her heart styled line dancing boots lol stella is awesome

keith drop - i know keith is papa lazarou but i dunno i think keith is cute! lol not sure why i like him as keith over papa but still?
