Series II Episode Six - finale

A real treat of an episode... Finally we learnt why the locket was so important. Firstly, Mrs Wren and Jelly travelled to London which is "full of weirdos" - a great visual gag considering Mrs Wren is done up as Mrs Ladybird Face! Another reference to poor Tealeaf as "Teabag" by Jelly too once they meet up with Peter Bishop - unaware that he has killed Tealeaf. Loved the blossoming romance between David and Sarah - I'm glad he wasn't going to be left alone... And so happy to see Finney get his, courtesy of a whack to the back of the head by David who'd been led there after Jennifer started remembering events. Jeremy looked to be having a better time too now that he could be released with his beloved 50 Great Coastal Walks of the British Isles Volume 2 - only to open it up and find empty pages - hence another frightening visit from the Silent Singer... poor Jeremy! Great twist with the locket - that the locket itself was worthless and that the chain was the literal missing link to Andrews - Kenchington had agreed to sell the formula to Andrews but withheld part of it - and it was the key to reanimating the brain of a dead human. Cue the first guinea pig - Kenchington's Nazi father, Ehrlichmann. Andrews, Jelly, Mrs Wren and Peter Bishop watched as her father's brain was re-energized and awoken - frightened me silly when Steve's eyes opened! David and Sarah attended Maureen's funeral, but it was Finney in the box... Beautiful music and camera direction throughout this scene.

Jelly and Mrs Wren were led away to be disposed of by the hapless Kelvin, only to be saved by a mysterious person - who turns out to be Kerry! She confronted Ehrlichmann who is his glass chamber is declaring the weak shall be got rid of, and Kerry out to avenge the death of Robert, used her telekinetic powers to cause Ehrlichmann's head to explode. Jelly revealed Andrews to be guilty of murdering all the Ravenhill patients in front of her potential investors, and she is later led away and arrested. David and Sarah sat eating tea together, and David went to get ice for Sarah's drink...from the bath in which Maureen's corpse lay...

And that my friends, was the end of Series II. Does more madness lie ahead?!

Re: Series II Episode 6 - finale

I totally agree. It was wonderful. I didn't know if I liked it more than series 1, but this one was more plot driven while the first was more on the characters, or so it seemed to me. I think therere are plenty of loose ends for a third series, which I hope they'll do. I was expecting to see more of Hattie, and I'm happy that my favourite characters survived! Love Jeremy and must get a copy of the lost book to see if he will come to reclaim it :-)) I had imagined early on the ending scene so I saw it coming, but it was nice nonetheless. Ah, and Peter Bishop was a great character and I loved the actor!

I thought the last episode was incredible! They all were really! :0) Yeah I'm happy that Jeremy didn't die, he was great. Wish he could have gotten his book back! I'm getting the series 1 and 2 dvd boxset soon, looking forward to it.

Re: Series II Episode 6 - finale

It was a really interesting second series, I did miss the Jelly/Jolly conflicts though! Reece made up as Jolly was a highlight. He doesn't reckon a third will be granted though.

Just like to say this website should be more recognised too, it's been put together with so much care and attention.

It's not over yet though, and there is a petition again. You never know! Thanks for your nice comments on the site, I'm glad it's appreciated! Reece has said I do a great job which was sweet! It seemed a real shame he didn't have one which was why I did it.

Re: Series II Episode 6 - finale

Yes I signed it soon after it was started. I was reading last night though that the BBC are looking to give new writers a chance but of course the fat lady etc. They commission other programmes that really shouldn't be! That's great that he commented on that. I'm not one to visit sites for people usually but this is well done.
