Episode 5 plus SPOILERISH article!

DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS...

"Psychoville

10pm, BBC2

It hardly seems possible, but Psychoville gets more grotesque by the week. Tonight, that principally means some alarming developments involving Little Freddy Fruitcake, who suddenly comes over, as we always knew he would, all Chucky. Meanwhile, David and Maureen arrange to meet their next victim in a waxwork museum, clowns Jolly and Jelly move towards an uneasy alliance, and we learn more about the secret that binds the main characters together."

Sounds great!

Re: Episode 5 plus SPOILERISH article!

Wait... Waxworks?! Noooo! They're going to pull a House of Wax... Although I loved that film when I was a child (I watched old horror flicks from the age 5 on) waxworks creep me the frig out now -- could be one of two reasons: 1) A traumatic experience at Ripley's involving me getting lost and some nutter jumping at me from the shadows in the creepy Lindbergh baby set up -- or whatever the hell that was.

-or-

2) Those creepy 'real doll enthusiasts'. Those things maybe made of latex and God knows what -- but YEAH.

I am looking forward to Freddie Fruitcake, though -- as long as it's executed ala Chucky and leaches do not come out of his mouth like the Puppet Master movies, I'll be fine. :P

Aw, I don't want the series to end so soon :( *hangs head*

Sounds awesome. Can't wait to see it.

The series is far too short. 7 episodes aren't enough for such an amazing series. Fortunately the DVD will come out soon.

Re: Episode 5 plus SPOILERISH article!

SPOILERS!!!

What an episode...! NO TEALEAF! He can't betray Mr Lomax! The Joy and Freddie stuff was exceedingly creepy..!! But George and Nicola?... Unlikely pairing :-) Jolly/Jelly were a great double act this evening - the car tooting and blowing bubbles whilst serious stuff was discussed was a great touch Happy :-)

And the musical ode.. what a triumph! Reece as Harold Christie - win! "My dream part" I think he said! "I was played by Sir Richard Attenborough. Who did he get? Martin Clunes." Hehhe! I did like Clunes as Haigh though. He got the charm/evil balance right.

I have a theory - and it could be utter twaddle - but I'll trot it out anyway -that the black gloved person IS Nurse Kenchington. That the group snapped and decided to bump her off - probably David volunteered to do one of his not quite full "strangles" - and they left her thinking she was dead but she wasn't. Rather like the Joy scenario last night. Just me wondering, could be totally wrong :)

Really enjoyable - intelligent, touching, amusing - top notch!

Re: Episode 5 plus SPOILERISH article!

!!Spoilers!!

Ep 5 is hilarious and creepy as hell – another triumph!

Tsk tsk, Robert... I'm more disappointed than surprised. My heart goes out to poor Kerry -- she's such a cutie. And that Brian is such an ass, but that line"One day your prince will come ... (not suitable for the young'uns)" tickled me to no end! Classic!

"Excuse me, I'm looking for a Mr Jelly." "JOLLY!"

Reece's freak out moment – I'm not sure what the hell that was – had me laughing so hard that I nearly fell out of my chair. Although, at that particular point, he did look a bit like Tim Curry in 'IT'. I love love love it!

Aw Hell -- I'm capping and linking it here!!

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a390/Bluish/JOLLY.jpg

Oohoo! Joy, Joy, Joy! That storyline is getting GOOOD! I was rooting for her to come back with a vengeance. Looks like Nicola and George are going to get theirs! I can't wait!

Maureen and David -- my favourites were were brilliant in this ep. Maureen is a wicked wicked lady, and I can't help but love it! But I feel so bad for David -- seems he didn't expect it to end up like it has

And the dance number was platinum win! PLATINUM F***IN WIN! (Sorry *shifts eyes* I can't help but be overly excited about that scene. Genius!)

As for Tea-Leaf -- the nickname says it all, but I'm not yet ready to come to any conclusions – with two more eps to go, *anything* can happen!

The boys certainly have outdone themselves with this show so if I hear one more person compare it with TLoG and say "It's not as good" I'm going to go into a fit of furious rage! TLoG and Psychoville are two completely different works of brilliance. It's sad that people can't open their minds enough to new possibilities enough to loosen their grips of what was and embrace what is... *sigh*

LoL Ok! I'm done with my tangent... :P

Re: Episode 5 plus SPOILERISH article!

Thanks for the screencap Mellie! I really really really enjoyed last night's ep, so good! Freddie Fruitcake frightened the life out of me I must confess! Oh Tealeaf.... I was v disappointed..! Robert - what a foolish man. Debbie is NOT worth it..

True enough - I read it again last night, on the Reece FB page - they just don't understand that it's not meant to be TLoG, just different.

Re: Episode 5 plus SPOILERISH article!

The blade through the cushion????!!!! GAH! *That* caused me to cover my eyes. *shivers*

Robert's story is something else.... but I feel it's just as much Kerry's story, also? Although we don't see much of her, the character still has such a strong presence throughout the line, for me at least.

I think that particular plot gets to me because it resembles something I've been through -- sans telekinetic panto dwarf :P You love some one so much while they insist upon blindly placing their affections on some fantasy -- and although you can see everything is wrong with the situation, there's nothing you can do or say to convince the person to wake from their dream. Sometimes it takes something bad for something good to happen. I'm interested in seeing how this will turn out in the end. Very good stuff, though...

Right -- it's not meant to be the League. Although there are elements -- of course since movie references are threaded throughout -- it's incredibly .. Bah, I can't be bothered with describing it, but I'm sure you all know what I mean. I suppose ... Not devaluing the TLoG series *at all* -- I have loved and will *always* love that show, but this Psychoville is Reece and Steve all grown up. Not sure if that makes any sense... Not that I expect it to, I suppose. Heh....

Re: Episode 5 plus SPOILERISH article!

I think it was soo amazing. A new brilliant episode!

The whole Joy story was very creepy. Looked a bit like "I don't want to be born" Or is ist just me who thinks this?

How could Tealeaf betray Lomax? I haven't thought that he could do something like this. I really haven't expected it.

Mr Jelly and Mr Jolly are a great pairing. The best was the "JOLLY!" move. So hilarious. I'm looking forward how they will work the story out.

I'm not sure what I shall think of that what Robert does with Debbie.

David and Maureen were brilliant. And the serial killer musical was awesome. I loved it.

I can just agree with you both. All people compare Psychoville with TLOG. They always say that just because Reece and Steve have written it and play in it, it has to be like TLOG. And it should be as good as it and they think, it isn't. And they don't get it that it's a completely different series which can't really compared with TLOG. People really should see it as an individual thing. It makes sense, Melanie. I think so as well. It is a more mature style than what they have written in the League.

BTW it's a wonderful screencap, Melanie. :)

Re: Episode 5 plus SPOILERISH article!

That makes perfect sense Mel :) And I agree, it's so sad to watch Robert pining for Debbie when Kerry feels as she does for him... bless her.

It's true Nadine, and even the chaps have said it - that there will always be comparisons, way of the world I suppose.
